Details on how to modify your existing subscription or stop paying for Toggl Track altogether

You can make subscription changes from the Subscription page in the web app. You can access it from the menu bar on the left.

Changing Payment Plan

To change to a different plan, on the Manage Billing page, you can click the Update Plan button.

Here you can choose:

  • To update the number of users in your Subscription. Click Update Quantity to do this. Please note our billing is per user.

  • Choose between Annual and Monthly billing.

  • Choose to switch between the Starter and Premium Plan.

You will be asked to confirm all changes.

If you cannot change your subscription, it could be because a change to this subscription is currently pending. In this case, please reach out to Support via the chat button in the bottom right corner.

Change billing info

  1. Click Manage Billing

  2. Click on Update Information

  3. Fill in the required details.

Note for EU customers: Your VAT number must be in the EU123456789 format. If your VAT number is getting rejected, please see if it's active. You can check here.

Change payment details

  1. Click Manage Billing

  2. Add New Payment method and delete the existing one using the 3-dot control.

Whichever admin last inputted the payment details is considered the paying organization user and can only be removed from the organization once another admin takes over the subscribing/paying member role. More on this here.

Canceling the subscription

  1. Click on "Downgrade to Free" under the Free plan tile.

  2. If you're on the new billing system, you'll be directed to the Billing Portal page. To execute the cancelation, click "Cancel plan" and then confirm again by hitting the "Cancel plan" button.

Important notes

  • Toggl Track has a No refund policy. Unless the charge was due to a system error, we won't be able to issue a refund. Read more about this in our Terms of Service.

  • Canceling the subscription works differently depending on the number of users in the organization:

  • - With up to 5 users, the organization is downgraded to the Free plan.

  • - With over five users, the organization is frozen. You can unfreeze it by lowering the number of active users to 5.

  • The switch to the Free plan (or freeze) is not instant. Since you paid for Toggl Track in advance, you'll remain on the previous plan until the end of the current billing cycle.

  • Paid plan features will not be available in your reports once a downgrade to the free plan is completed.
