Learn how you can lock up your timesheets and prevent old time entries from being edited

Locking time entries allows you to prevent back-dated entries from being entered or edited. Locking time entries is part of our Enterprise and Premium plans. See the prices of these plans and upgrade on your Subscription page.

How do I lock time entries?

  • Administrators can lock time entries on the Workspace Settings page.

  • Open the date picker by moving the switch from Unlocked to Locked. Set the date that you want to lock entries up to.

  • Users will not be able to create or edit existing time entries prior to and on your selected date.

The screenshot below shows how you can enable the "Lock time entries" feature using a switch on the settings page for your workspace:

How does locking time entries work?

Let's imagine the timesheets were locked up to July 16th. This means that...

  • Regular users will be unable to edit, add, or delete any time entries dated July 16 or earlier

  • Administrators can still edit, delete, and add time in the locked period.
