Clearing the database manually

If you’re unable to open the app, then you need to physically delete some files in order to flush the local database:

  • OSX:
If you are using the version downloaded from our website:
Open Terminal and type the following then hit Return:
    open ~/Library/Application\ Support/Kopsik
In the Finder window that opens up delete every file and folder from within the Kopsik directory.

If you are using the AppStore version:
Open Terminal and type the following then hit Return:
    open ~/Library/Containers/com.toggl.toggldesktop.TogglDesktop/Data/Library/Application\ Support/Kopsik

In the Finder window that opens up delete every file and folder from within the Kopsik directory.

  • Windows:
    Remove file named toggldesktop.db in
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\TogglDesktop
Easiest way to open up the correct location is to type (or copy):
    %LOCALAPPDATA%/TogglDesktop
into the Explorer address bar and press Enter.
  • Linux:
    Remove all the files from:
    /home/<your user name>/.local/share/Toggl/Toggl\ Desktop
