API & Webhook limits

To keep Toggl Track fast, reliable, and scalable for everyone, we’re introducing usage limits for our APIs and webhooks starting September 5th, 2025. These changes help ensure fair access to our API infrastructure, protect system stability, and support ongoing improvements.

What’s changing

Webhooks (per workspace):

Free: 1 webhook (up to 3 events per webhook)
Starter: 2 webhooks (up to 6 events per webhook)
Premium: 3 webhooks (up to 12 events per webhook)

API Limits

Our API limits are applied based on the type of request. There are two distinct limits:

1. Workspace/Organization API Limits

These limits apply to requests that point to a specific workspace or organization (e.g., fetching reports, time entries, or projects for a workspace). The API quota is determined by the Organization's subscription plan.

Free: 30 requests per hour, per user, per organization
Starter: 240 requests per hour, per user, per organization
Premium: 600 requests per hour, per user, per organization

Higher, custom limits are available on Enterprise plans.

2. User-Specific API Limits

This limit applies to requests that are about your personal user data and are not targeting a specific workspace. For example, using the https://api.track.toggl.com/api/v9/me endpoint.

Requests of this nature will have a 30-request per hour limit per user for users on Free, Starter and Premium organizations. Users who are only

Payment plans at Toggl Track

Accepted Answer

Our free plan covers basic time-tracking needs. It allows you add a limited number of users to track time for free! However, you can upgrade your Organization to a paid subscription so you can add more users and unlock more powerful features. Each member you add to your organization is assigned a license, which is what you're billed for — see Understanding licenses in Toggl Track.

What is the Toggl Track desktop app?

Toggl Track for Windows is a native Windows application that can be installed on your computer. It works seamlessly with the web version of Toggl Track, syncing data on the fly. The desktop app also works offline; it stores data locally and sends it to the Toggl Track server once you're back online.

Please note you need Windows 10 (1903) or higher to use this app.

Tracking Time and Managing Data in List and Calendar View

The app offers List and Calendar views, allowing users to add/edit time entries directly in them.

List view

List-view can display each time entry individually or group entries with the same description and project together.

Do you have an API available?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we do! All Toggl Track users are welcome to use the public API to create their own Toggl Track implementations. Using the API doesn't require a paid plan. Detailed API documentation is available on our Developer page. Along with the API, you're welcome to contribute to Toggl Track's open-source projects. We will review your contribution and merge it with master if it meets our standards.

Toggl Track Time Tracker and Timesheet for Work Hours is a native app for Android designed to help you track time while on the move. It syncs with your Toggl Track account allowing you to seamlessly switch between tracking time on the phone and tracking on the web or desktop.
