User access rights
There are three basic user access levels: regular user, project manager and workspace administrator.
Additionally, multiple people can track time to one project, depending on whether the project is private (default) or public.
Regular users can:
- track time under projects they are members of
- view their own time reports;
- track time to and view reports of public projects;
- add projects and clients (unless the workspace administrator has disabled this in the workspace settings);
- add tags;
- invite team members;
- add comments to projects.
By default, all newly invited workspace members are regular users.
Project managers can:
- do everything regular users can;
- edit the project they are managers of;
- see all the time that is tracked under the project they are managers of.
The user who creates a project is automatically that project's manager. One project can have multiple managers.
Project managers (3) can be set and changed in the project edit page:
Workspace administrators can:
- do everything project managers can;
- change workspace settings;
- edit all projects & clients;
- edit team members;
- see the time tracked from all team members.
Workspace administrators can be set in Settings - Team, the yellow star (4) indicates administrator status.
Private projects:
- are only accessible to the project team members;
- each member can only see their own tracked times;
- project managers and workspace administrators can generate reports on the whole team's time records.
Public projects:
- are accessible to all workspace users;
- they can all track time to that project;
- they can all see every time entry that has been tracked under the project by all users.
Changing project privacy settings
Open the particular project for editing from your Settings - Projects section (1)

From the Team tab (2), click on the user role to change it (3), or 'Share with whole team' to make the project Public.
If your project is already public, you can make it private (4) under the Team tab also:
You can decide the project status upon creating it. By default, all projects are Private, but if you wish to make it Public, click 'Show details' and tick the necessary box when adding the project (5):
