Personal settings (My Profile)

Click 'Change profile' on the sidebar to change personal settings (1):

This section is pretty self-explanatory, but there are some important things you need to know:

Time Zone

Profile_2-1.PNG

The time zone (2) set in your Toggl profile needs to be exactly the same as it is in your computer (name and number of hours). If they are different, Toggl might act a bit weird. You might see symptoms like these:

  • when saving a time entry, its start or stop time moves back/forward a few hours

  • when creating a new time entry, it is saved under a different day than you wanted

Google sign-in

Enabling Google sign-in (3) allows you to sign in to Toggl using your Google credentials. Check the separate article if you have any trouble or want to know more.

Timer Settings

Start tracking automatically in the timer (4) setting only has effect on the Nano and Classic timers in Toggl Desktop, it has no effect in your web browser.

Store start and stop time (5) does one of two things:

  • when this setting is enabled, the timer will record the time of day when you started and stopped an entry as well as its duration. When you 'continue' an entry, a new one will be created every time. The listing will look something like this:

  • when the setting is disabled, the timer will only record the duration of your time entry. 'Continuing' will track on top of the previously recorded duration, and times of day will not be recorded. This is what your home page list will look like:

Workspace & API

You can belong to multiple workspaces so that you can work with a number of teams using just one user account. You can use the iCal button (6) to pull all your time entries into your Google calendar.

This is where you can create new workspaces (7).

For you, developers, Toggl also has an API that you can use to link your own systems with it! Once you've found your token (8), follow the detailed instructions to get exactly the data you need.
